We analyzed 197 speeches by representatives from 193 Member States, identifying their positions on eight indicators related to gender equality, women’s leadership, the election of the next Secretary-General, UN reform, and the future of multilateralism.

The first step was to build a structured database based on the official speeches. We compiled and standardized the transcripts, incorporating information on each country, speaker, position, and source. We then combined automated text processing with an AI-assisted coding system and a human validation process. This approach allowed us to systematically analyze the positions expressed in the speeches without losing sight of their political context.

Beyond identifying keywords, we wanted to understand what positions governments were expressing, which issues were receiving attention, and where contradictions arose between general commitments and stances on specific decisions.

Based on the data, we developed a strategic analysis that identifies trends, compares positions across countries, and highlights relevant statements. The research linked these findings to concrete opportunities for communication and advocacy.
